Walsingham Fleur-de-Lys Set With a Garnet Stone Pilgrim Badge, Boxed With Brief Historical Descripition

Walsingham is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, whose symbol is the lily, representing purity. When found, the original of this badge was lacking its jewel. This has been replaced in our replica by a garnet, one of the most popular of medieval semi precious stones.

Origin and Date: This example was found in London and dates from the 14th century.
