Hand Made and Painted Arched Nativity Retablo, 17cm / 6.75 Inches High

This special Christmas piece has been entirely hand crafted by skilled artisans in Peru. The wooden doors feature beautiful sculpted florals painted with an aged effect. They open to an intricate nativity scene in bold colours with a slight vintage styling. It is a stunning feature piece to have on display during the festive period. The doors are hinged with nailed leather straps.

Retablos are a popular form of folk art  in Central and South America and they often depict religious themes and scenes of traditional life.
