Saint Brendan's Bantry Boat - "Strength in Unity". A curragh or leather boat, with the helmsman urging on four oarsmen as they row heavenwards amid a sea of crosses. The boat is vertical on the shaft of the original cross, with overlooks Bantry Bay & may celebrate St. Brendan's possible discovery of America some 1,000 years before Columbus.
