The credit card-style Safeguarding Contact Card is designed to be given to leaders, office holders and volunteers, including clergy, readers, licensed ministers, church wardens, officers, children and youth leaders, musicians, administrators and safeguarding officers. Designed to be kept in a wallet or purse so that it is always to hand, it sets out four key steps in responding to safeguarding concerns:
* Recognise the signs;
* Respond sensitively and listen;
* Record what you have been told accurately;
* Report immediately to the appropriate authorities.
The reverse side contains space to record local safeguarding contact details, including out of hours and local authority contacts.
